What do GPG Issue Experts do?
GPG Issue Experts work with the GPG management team to provide insight and education to GPG clients, ranging from answering quick questions to helping develop comprehensive philanthropic strategies. Many of these interactions are telephone consultations. Other interactions include educational events such as formal seminars, collaborative discussions, site tours and private in-office meetings; written products, including issue reports, talking points, and strategy studies; and various forms of in-depth and ongoing consulting.

How do I join the GPG Issue Experts Network?
Please click here to submit an application. The application form has four brief sections and requires that you accept our Terms and Conditions.

How will I know if your Terms and Conditions change?
If we make changes to our Terms and Conditions, we will contact you via the email address you provide in order to gain your acceptance of the changes.

What if my email address or other information changes?
Please contact us at experts@globalphilanthropy.com and we will update our database to reflect your new information.

How do I know if my GPG Issue Experts application was successfully received?
You will receive an email message confirming your submission. Once your submission has been successfully received, you are considered a member of the GPG Issue Experts Network.

When will you contact me?
We work with Experts as our clients' work demands so we cannot predict when we will contact you. However, our list of clients and the topics we are helping them address is growing rapidly so we hope to work with you soon.

What if I don't have time when you contact me or I am not interested in the project?
Your participation in any GPG project is at your discretion. You may accept or decline any engagement we contact you about. You are responsible for declining any project that presents a conflict of interest with your pre-existing work.

Can non-GPG organizations or individuals utilize the Issue Experts Network?
Yes. If you are interested in working with our Experts, please contact us at experts@globalphilanthropy.com. We are happy to make connections between our Experts and good causes.

Do you keep my information strictly confidential?
No. While we will not sell or publicly publish your information, we may share it with our clients and members of their projects if your experience is a match with their work. You are responsible for ensuring that you may participate as a GPG Issue Expert based on your commitment to your employer or other parties. Please do not submit the GPG Issue Experts Network application if you are not comfortable with this.

Can I discuss GPG projects with others?
No, if you are contacted about a GPG project, you are obligated to keep all project information confidential, per our Terms and Conditions.

Will I be paid to be an Expert?
Yes. Our application form asks you to enter your hourly consulting rate. The specific details of your compensation will be negotiated when you are contacted about an engagement.

Does GPG Issue Experts membership restrict me from other jobs or organizations?
No. You can join any other organizations. Your participation in our Network does not restrict your availability to do other work.

If I work for a GPG client, can I work directly for that client in the future?
No. Per our Terms and Conditions, you are prohibited from working directly with a client you met through the GPG Issues Experts Network for six months after your engagement. However, you can continue to consult with them through GPG.

Can I list GPG Issue Experts on my resume/CV?
Yes.

What do I do if I have worked on topics that your form doesn't list?
Please include such information on your bio which you can cut and paste into the application form.

What level of experience is required to be an Expert?
GPG Experts have a wide range of experience levels as our needs for outside expertise vary across client projects. Sometimes we require extensive, specialized knowledge; other clients are becoming familiar with new topics and require introductory, overview information. Our application form includes skill, issue and geographic areas that we work or anticipate working in, but the list is not exhaustive. If you have experience in an area you think could be valuable in helping us develop and implement high-impact social change strategies, we encourage you to join our network.
